Black Males Film Festival @ 7825 S. Western Ave, Los Angeles CA 90047 – All Ages
Please join FAMLI (Foundation for Arts, Mentoring, Leadership and Innovation) and the Krst Unity Center of Afrakan Spiritual Science for a three-day film festival under the theme of “Black Males, an American Dilemma.” The “Ive Known Rivers” film festival will take place Nov. 8–10, at 7825 S. Western Ave., in Los Angeles. More than 20 dynamic films will be screened!

AFI Film Fest @ Hollywood – Free, All Ages
AFI FEST presented by Audi showcases films by master and emerging filmmakers. AFI FEST 2013 takes place November 7-14 in Hollywood, California.

Red Nation Film Festival @ NoHo Arts District – All Ages
The Authentic Voice of American Indian & Indigenous Cinema, is dedicated to breaking the barrier of racism by successfully replacing American Indian stereotype with recognition, new vision, arts, culture and economic prosperity by placing American Indian Filmmakers at the forefront of the entertainment industry and to introduce American Indian Filmmakers to larger, global mainstream audiences while establishing relations between the American Indian community and the entertainment industry. The Festival theme, “Red is Green” serves to expand the boundaries of how American Indians have typically been defined in our cultural and to also inspire audiences with the sacred personal relationship to Mother Earth that our tribes have kept alive.

CaminArte @ Mariachi Plaza – 3pm-10pm, Free, All Ages
Join us Friday,November 8, 2013 for the last CaminArte of the year!!!! Join us as we turn the Mariachi Plaza into an inter-generational art gathering where artist can have a space to share, display and sell their artwork. Where community members can meet and greet, share and dialogue with artist as the aroma of food and the sound of music dance in the air. Lets come in unity with in our community and paint beautiful memories and a future that is bright and inclusive of all.

Bhopali: Featuring Survivor-Activist Sanjay Verma @ UCLA – 6:30pm, Donations appreciated, All Ages
Bhopali is an award-winning 2011 documentary about the 1984 Bhopal, India gas disaster, the worst industrial disaster in history. The film depicts the ongoing suffering of survivors as well as their determination as they continue to fight for justice almost three decades later. The film will be followed by Q&A with survivor-activist Sanjay Verma, who is featured in the film, as well as director Van Maximilian Carlson and and producer Kirk Palayan.
